Hybrid Meets All-Wheel Drive in New Tech-Packed Ford Maverick
When the Ford Maverick debuted in 2021, it quickly became the truck Americans didn’t know they needed. Now, Ford has made its smallest truck even smarter, enhancing its capability, spaciousness, and versatility while maintaining the lowest starting price of any midsize pickup in America.
The biggest update for the 2025 Maverick is the addition of an all-wheel drive hybrid model, a highly requested feature by Maverick’s loyal customers. This new option, available on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, provides better handling on challenging terrain and in adverse weather conditions. It also includes an optional package that doubles the towing capacity, allowing customers to tow small campers, personal watercraft, and utility trailers with ease.
The 2025 Maverick introduces several new tech features designed to enhance the driving experience. Customers can now enjoy wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ on a larger, 13.2-inch touchscreen, eliminating the need for smartphone cords. This upgrade is part of the SYNC 4 system, which also includes Enhanced Voice Recognition and connected navigation.
Additionally, the Maverick now features a built-in 5G modem, allowing for the latest wireless tech and over-the-air software updates to keep vehicle systems up to date. A 360-Degree Camera, new for 2025, offers a split-view display to aid in navigating tight corners and small parking spaces, making urban driving more manageable.
For those who tow, the Maverick’s new Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist are game-changers. These technologies, available in early 2025, simplify the process of hitching and backing up trailers. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist uses the rear camera and corner radars to align the hitch with the trailer coupler, while Pro Trailer Backup Assist allows drivers to control the direction of the trailer with a knob, making it easy to maneuver into position.
The Maverick continues to draw customers from not only other truck brands but also small cars and SUVs. Approximately 60% of Maverick customers trade in vehicles from other brands, attracted by its Built Ford Tough capability, versatility, and value.
One standout feature is the FLEXBED® Storage System, which helps customers organize their payload. The bed includes pockets molded into the sidewalls for sectioning off cargo, creating two-tier loading, and securing long items like 2x4s or a couch with the multi-position tailgate. DIY enthusiasts can also add features like 12V outlets or lighting with pre-wired connections.
The 2025 Maverick Hybrid impresses with its efficiency, offering a targeted EPA-estimated 42 miles per gallon in the city with the standard front-wheel drive model and 40 miles per gallon with the all-wheel drive model. This makes it a top choice for those seeking both versatility and fuel economy.
Ford Co-Pilot360 technology comes standard on every Maverick, including features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping Aid, a Rear View Camera, and Auto LED High-Beam Headlamps. New for 2025, the Lariat and Tremor trims include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Predictive Speed Assist, which enhance driving comfort and ease.
The 2025 Maverick sports a refreshed appearance, with redesigned LED headlamps, front bumper, and grille. Higher trims feature LED projector headlamps with signature accent lighting for a more premium look. Interior updates include new trim colors and materials, catering to customer requests for more interior color accent choices.
The Lariat trim now offers a sophisticated Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents, while the XLT trim features an Aspen Gray/Navy Pier theme with Grabber Blue accents. A new Black Package is also available, featuring a unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels.
Starting at an MSRP of $26,295, plus $1,595 for destination and delivery, the 2025 Ford Maverick continues to offer exceptional value. Orders for the new Maverick and Maverick Hybrid began on August 1, with deliveries expected to start in late 2024. The 2025 Ford Maverick, with its blend of advanced technology, enhanced capability, and versatile features, is set to continue its legacy as a game-changing pickup truck.
